A freshly-single Johnny Depp threw on some eyeliner and his finest pashmina last night … and partied his face off with his boys from Aerosmith … the first time we’ve seen the actor in public since announcing his split from Vanessa Paradis.

See our full Phillip Phillips finale interview: www.youtube.com In a two-hour extravaganza, Phillip Phillips takes the Season 11 win of American Idol! Hey Idol fans, you’re watching ClevverMusic. The Season 11 American Idol finale took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles last night, and after 132 million votes, America chose Leesburg, Georgia native Phillip Phillips as its Idol. To many it was clear that Phillip would win, as he was never in the bottom three, and always stayed true to artistry and style. In the star studded finale, Phillip Phillips sang “Have You Ever Seen The Rain” with his Idol John Fogerty, while Jessica did an incredible duet with her Idol Jennifer Holliday, touted the best performance of the night by Randy Jackson. That’s saying a lot, considering Rihanna and fellow Idol judges J.Lo and Steven Tyler (and Aerosmith) performed on the show as well. Top 12 contestants from the season were back for the finale, where the girls performed a medley of songs with Chaka Khan and the boys a medley with Neil Diamond. 3rd place Idol Joshua Ledet sang a duet with his Idol Fantasia Barrino, Skylar Laine belted “Turn On The Radio” with Reba McEntire, and Hollie Cavanagh was joined by Idol Alum Jordin Sparks for “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” Aside from astounding performances, there were tons of surprises on the show, including Idols first engagement. Past Idol Ace Young surprised fellow Idol girlfriend Diana DeGarmo with a marriage proposal, and of course she said …

It’s a battle of the opposites on the last performance night of American Idol’s Season 11, and we’re breaking down Jessica and Phillip’s final performances. Hey Idols, you’re watching your friend ClevverMusic. Last night saw American Idol Season 11′s Top 2, Jessica and Philip, go head-to-head in three rounds in their final performances. Special guest Jason Derulo performed new song ‘Undefeated’ and last year’s winner, Scotty McCreery, performed “Please Remember Me.” The 3 song rounds of the night included first a song choice by American Idol creator Simon Fuller, then the contestant’s favorite song of the season, and finally they will debut their potential winning Idol single. . In the first round Jessica Sanchez started off the night by belting Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” and Phillip Phillip’s did a daring new arrangement of the classic song “Stand By Me.” We think Jessica’s song lacked emotion, but Randy Jackson said that Jessica won that round. In round two Jessica sang her favorite of the season “The Prayer” and Phillip sang “Movin’ Out” which he sang on Billy Idol week. The judges were torn on this round on who sang better, and we think it was a dead heat in round 2. In the third round Jessica debuted “Change Nothing” her potential Idol win single, a love song about her perfect guy. The judges critiqued the song itself, but to be fair, that’s not Jessica’s …

There has been much discussion lately about the fact that American Idol is losing it’s fan base. Much of that discussion centers around feelings that the show has gotten formulaic, pedestrian, predictable and simply mundane. Tonight’s performances, at least the first one hour and forty-one minutes of the two-hour show, proved that discussion to be [...]
Last night, the American Idol top 13 competed in regular competition for the first time. And what a night it was! In a change from previous years, the boys and the girls participated in one night. There were a couple of stellar performances, a couple of major disappointments, and a whole lot of Karaoke. For [...]
America has spoken. Last night, America spoke (strangely sounding just like Ryan Seacrest). In a two hour long paring down of the final 25 into the final 13, tears were shed, hearts were broken, and, in 13 cases, dreams were sustained. Having so much to do, the show was fast paced, and, unusually, focused entirely [...]
Top 12 girls sing for their dinner – They were eating light tonight. Starting girl’s night out was Chelsea Sorrell singing Carrie Underwood’s hit “Cowboy Casanova.”. Though the song was Carrie Underwood’s, the performance fell far short of Carrie. Growling her way through her performance Chelsea was notable mostly for the notes she did [...]
Well, the first night of the Idol competition has passed, the boys have sung, and the judges have crooned. The night started out slowly as Adam Brock chose to sing Aretha Franklin’s “Think”. A mediocre job, but OK. Deandre Brackensick, did Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Reason.” In a falsetto that was at once annoying and [...]
Well, now it’s America’s turn. Last Thursday, the judges, amid many tears, many teasers, and with ruthless determination, whittled the top 42 candidates down to the top 24 – plus one, yet-to-be-named male for good measure. This is the last round of auditions, and the last time the judges have the final say. Beginning next [...]
Top 24 semi-finalists selected, just in time for the live performances. Last night was the second half of the final audition weeding out. Amid many tears and endless teasers (After the break) the last of the 24 top semi-finalists were announced. Here they are in no particular order. TOP 12 GUYS Colton Dixon [...]
